Savoring

Flavors Along the Way

Some of my most memorable moments don’t begin at landmarks or on a bike. They start with a plate. I enjoy losing myself in foreign flavors, letting curiosity lead over caution. Like smoky octopus in Barcelona, rich and simple, or my experience at a tiny omakase in Tokyo, where I sat among locals and passed their natto test. Food has a way of etching a place into memory. Food is how I connect to a place more than almost anything else. This is where I write about those meals.
